Old Pavilion, Hole No 3, Par 4 |
YardageWhite - 334 / Yellow - 331 / Red - 329 Local KnowledgeThis is probably the most straightforward hole on the course with little of concern, other than hitting the green with the second shot. The tee-shot should be played to the right, avoiding the central bunker, because anything to the left will be blocked out by a big green side bunker. The approach to the green is fast, with the result that second shots have a tendancy to gallop through, leaving tricky chip back onto the unusual saucer-shaped green, believed to have been made with waste material from Bellingham foundry. Its certainly a hole which lower-handicappers harbour strong birdie hopes.
